Rick is definitely the Renaissance Man of Fitness as he not only guides us through all the moves, he conducts nutrition talks, and brings experts on to assist with lifestyle habits, and various topics relating to mental and physical well-being. He has enlightened us with videos on the proper use of dumbbells as well as the proper form for squats, lunges, etc. His workouts are fun, well thought out, and doable for every age. I love that Rick is in communication with us, even though his time is so limited as he is a busy guy and very proactive. He even sends a unique email out to members every day as a way of reaching out, with encouragement, nuggets of ideas, or tips he’s wanting to share. He is always asking what members would like in the way of new classes or an idea for a podcast and he does regular LIVE sessions on a Saturday, whether it be a live class, invited guest chat or an educational topic on health. His initial talk when membership first started was all on nutrition.
There's no one food that actually makes you put on weight
You only gain weight if total number of calories you eat goes past your maintenance.
It’s simply this:
↔️ Eat the same as you burn, you maintain your weight
⬆️ Eat more than you burn, you gain weight
⬇️ Eat less than you burn, you lose weight
There's no magic diet or secret formula that burns fat
All weight loss diets in the world are based on one principle: calories in vs calories out.
So whether it’s a ‘system’ where you eliminate a whole food group, stick to low-calorie food, or follow calorie-controlled recipes… whether it’s called a fancy name or how “you wouldn’t believe this ultra-mega secret I’m about to tell you that works like *snap* that ”… it just follows the calories in vs calories out principle – there’s no magic behind it.
Quick fixes are dehydration tactics
They are designed to dehydrate your body of water so when you jump on a scale, you have "lost weight". But when you stop doing these tactics and quick fixes, you will gain back the weight you lost as your body simply rehydrates itself.
Scary truth is, these tactics crash your metabolism and burn muscle. So not only do you regain the weight you lost straight away, you gain MORE weight as your metabolism is now burning calories at a slower rate.
You end up worse of than before you started.
There is no fat burning exercise or workout
Exercise can help assist you in the goal, but it only makes up 20% of your results. To put it simply, it doesn’t matter if you burned 400 calories in 40 minutes if you just consumed 1,500 calories in just ten.
If you consistently consume more calories than your maintenance, it does not matter what exercise you do in the world. You will not lose weight.
